The Tatra Mountains are the part of Western Carpathians and are known as ‘Polish Alps’. Tatra National Park is famous of beautiful valleys (Chocholowska, Kościeliska), breathtaking lakes such as Morskie Oko and Czarny Staw and a lot of scenic attractions created by nature. For fans of climbing there are awaiting peaks such as Giewont, Kasprowy Wierch and – the most difficult to climb – Rysy (2499m). Zakopane – the biggest mountain resort in Poland, situated at the foot of the Tatras – is also worth visiting.
