The Salt Mine in Wieliczka is placed on the UNESCO Heritage List. It was opened in the 13th century and used to be one of the most important salt mines in Europe. Since 18th century it has become a unique tourist attraction. Wieliczka Salt Mine has 300 km of galleries with statues sculpted in the salt, a lot of chapels and chambers that make enormously strong impression. Moreover, in Wieliczka there is also worth seeing the Cracow Salt-Works Museum.
